Ocean Housing recently purchased the former MPG Books site on Lostwithiel Road, Bodmin which will be developed for affordable housing. Ocean Housing has been working with Prospect Estates who obtained the planning consent, and Gilbert & Goode will start building works later this year.
Alan Green, Ocean Housing’s Head of Development commented;
‘This will be a fantastic opportunity for people of all incomes to get an affordable new home in a great part of Bodmin. It’s been good to work with Prospect Estates on this site and now Ocean look forward to getting started and creating jobs and training and to play our part in the wider regeneration of the town”.
Jody Barnes, Ocean Housing’s Sales Coordinator added;
‘This exciting site gives local people in Bodmin that chance they didn’t think they would have to purchase a brand new home. Shared ownership is that stepping stone that people need to get their foot on the property ladder.’
The development will provide a mix of rented and shared ownership homes and, with and investment from Ocean’s housing of over £5million, the scheme is programmed to complete in 2017.
