Here are some FAQs about Ocean’s Home Insurance.
1. What cover will Ocean provide?
Ocean will arrange for the insurance of your building premises, including any drains and sewers which extend to the public mains.

2. What about my contents?
Ocean do not provide insurance cover for your contents. You will need to get separate cover for your household contents.
3. How do I make a claim?
24 hour emergency repair service (0800 0280336).
Contact Ocean for a claim form or ring Zurich on 0870 241 8050 during office hours to report the claim. When you contact them about a new claim you will need to tell them your name and address, the place where the loss occurred and what caused the loss or damage.

4. What if the problem arises from when the property was built?
All new Ocean homes will be sold to our customers with a level of warranty and insurance cover. This will typically be provided by the NHBC, although we do use alternative warranty providers, and will cover the property for a period of 10 to 12 years.
During the first two years the builder warranty will ensure that the builder corrects damage to the property caused by the builder’s failure to build to the warranty provider’s standards. This does not cover wear and tear or anything done to your home after completion.
During year’s three to ten, or twelve depending on the length of cover, the builder warranty will provide insurance to cover the cost of correcting physical damage in specified parts of your home. The specific areas covered will be detailed in your warranty certificate.
Please note that all claims against this warranty and insurance cover, during years three to ten/twelve, will required an excess payment to be made by the claimant. The level of excess required to be paid will be detailed in your warranty certificate.
