According to the NHS, around one in three adults over 65 who live at home will have at least one fall a year. If you’re unsteady on your feet or prone to suffering a fall, it’s worth considering investing in a Lifeline personal alarm.

Our 24-hour Lifeline service gives users the freedom to live independently in their own homes, with the peace of mind of knowing that help is at hand with the touch of a button. The Lifeline pendant works anywhere in your home or garden. Simply press the button to raise the alarm and you’ll immediately be connected to Lifeline’s 24-hour call centre in Cornwall.

The call centre team will have access to all of your details, and contact information for your GP, family and friends, ensuring you receive the appropriate help

How does the Lifeline Telecare service work?

Step 1 – What do I need?

All you need is a working landline phone socket within 2 metres of a mains electricity plug socket. It is recommended that you have named key holders who can be contacted when an alarm is raised or a key safe for emergency entry.

Step 2 – Installation

Ocean Extra will come and install your system and gather information around your medical conditions, GP, family and friends details and this will be registered with the Call Centre that is based in Cornwall.

Step 3 – Raising an alarm call

If you need help, alarm calls can be easily raised from anywhere in the home or garden (up to 50 metres coverage) by simply pressing the red alarm button on the unit or the grey button on the pendant.

Step 4 – Help is called

The Lifeline home unit automatically dials the Call Centre where a trained operator will respond to your call. The operator will speak to you via the loudspeaker in the home unit and can hear you through the powerful microphone. Once they have understood the reason for the call, they can then provide the most appropriate help. Even if they can’t hear you or if you are unable to respond they will request help, whether it be a local key holder (e.g. neighbour), family member or the emergency services.* *The emergency services will respond to requests for assistance in accordance with their procedures.
