New Rural Development in St Newlyn East

Pete and Shirley Taylor, and Lexi the dog, can’t wait to spend their first Christmas in their brand new Ocean home in St Newlyn East. Pete grew up and has lived in the village his whole life and his family help to organise various community activities for the people living in the village.

The happy couple have settled well and are enjoying living in their brand new home.

“We are so pleased with our brand new, spacious Ocean home,” beams Shirley. “We can’t wait to spend Christmas in it surrounded by our wonderful family and friends.”

Ocean’s new development in the quaint, rural village was declared open in September.

In August we replaced the old 1960s supported housing scheme, Windmill House, with 12 new affordable apartments for local people. Some of the original Windmill House residents moved back into the new building which was officially opened by local MP Steve Double.

All the residents are happy to be spending their first Christmas in their new self-contained apartments overlooking the stunning Fowey estuary.Windmill Residents (2) sml

“Ocean have done us proud and we are all so grateful that the new Windmill House has allowed us local, older people to remain living in the town,” says resident, Ron.

“We are very much looking forward to spending Christmas in our new home! We have decorated our communal lounge which looks very festive!”
