Hoorah – it’s a Bank Holiday weekend! With the extra day off, we all start thinking about spending time with our families, getting out in the garden to prepare it for summer or doing that spring clean…..re-igniting a sense of pride in our community and surroundings.
One of our lovely residents, Jan from St. Agnes, recently emailed to tell us how things were going and how proud she was of her sons. Not only had they both been supportive through tough times but one had also done something for the benefit of others that she felt was worth sharing with us and others.
Here’s an extract from her email and a couple of photos she sent in:
‘Owen took it upon himself a couple of weeks ago to clear out and tidy the communal bin area.
Stuff had been just dumped from people vacating properties and it was an awful mess.
He did 2 dump run trips in his car and then swept, picked up and tidied the area.
A neighbour must have seen as they anonymously wrote a letter to the residents asking that everyone respect his hard work and to keep the area tidy. This letter was pinned to the doors of the bin area.’
We were so inspired by this, especially as he did it completely off his own back, we are more than happy to share this on our website in recognition of his efforts and to inspire others to take pride in their surroundings.
