Delivering Affordable Homes for Mylor

Following the successful launch of Shared Ownership homes at Mylor, the first properties are set to be handed over soon, marking an exciting milestone for the development. The development will deliver a total of 37 homes for people with a local connection to the parish.

Ocean Housing, in collaboration with its sister company Gilbert & Goode, has designed the scheme to address the housing needs of the village and its surrounding areas. The plans were shaped and amended following public consultation with residents and Mylor Parish Council to ensure the development is both inclusive and sustainable.

A mix of high-quality homes, the estate will be made up of private access flats, accessible bungalows, and 2, 3, and 4-bedroom family homes. 22 of these homes will be available for social rent, offered at approximately 60% of open market rent, and 15 homes will be available through shared ownership, providing a more attainable route to home ownership.

Frances Turner, Executive Director of Housing & Communities for Ocean Housing said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be delivering another wholly affordable scheme that directly responds to the needs of our communities. Over 23,000 households are on Cornwall’s housing register and the number keeps rising. That’s why we remain committed to building high-quality, genuinely affordable homes that offer security and help people stay in the places they know and love.
