St Dennis gets a new playground
Children and families at Hendra Heights in St Dennis are enjoying a brand-new playground, providing a safer space for local children to play and spend time outdoors. Over time, the previous playground had become worn and needed replacing. In 2023, the play equipment was removed due to its condition, leaving the area as an open grassed space while plans for a replacement playground were developed.
Now complete, the new playground provides local children with a safe, accessible place to play and spend time outdoors with family and friends.
Sustainability and durability were key considerations when choosing the new play equipment. It is primarily made from recycled materials rather than timber, with most of the main structures expected to last for more than 35 years. The original timber fencing has also been replaced with durable galvanised steel fencing to improve security and longevity.
For families at Hendra Heights and the surrounding area, the new playground provides an important community space, helping children stay active, socialise and enjoy outdoor play close to home.
Ross Yates, Grounds Maintenance & Cleaning Manager, echoed the positive impact the project has had on the area:
” The new play area is a vast improvement to the area, transforming what was once an underused space into a much more attractive, welcoming and enjoyable environment for local families.”
The project demonstrates our commitment to investing in communities and making a positive difference for our tenants.
